Part of the crowd at the auction

Sonja Conner, the living inspiration for the new color "Sonja's Violette"

Hal and Tanya getting ready to flash that bid number

Dallas models a lovely handmade hat and scarf. Brandon got a big grin out of that.

Brad welcomes visitors to the Legg family farm. It's a good thing we were warned to wear comfortable shoes, as the tour took about 2 hours. Brad answers questions about how the family got started and the many animals we would see. This includes parakeets, finches, mini donkeys, potbelly pigs, chickens, hedgehogs.... and the list goes on...

Brad explains color and pattern, along with some of the finer points of distinguishing the colors. He also gave hints about a new mutation he's working on. We saw the brown shoulder, Taupe and Sonja's Violette. Doug is in the background.

George's license plate

A few of the whites managed to escape their pen. Between Brandon, Dallas and Donn, all five birds were lassoed in short order. Here's Donn escorting his "catch" back to the pen. He makes all cowboys proud.

Ohh the reunion was so much fun!!!!! We met some amazing people and shared lots of successes and failures in peafowl keeping. Most of all we shared plenty of laughs and we are going next year for sure! Can we register now???? This was our first time and I encourage all UPA members to come on down, up, or over to the convention in 2012. If you are not a UPA member sign up, get a great magazine, and get ready for the 2012 convention!!! Very Happy

I'm sure your photos are MUCH BETTER than these - can you share? Thanks!
Yes, this was a fun weekend. We had a good crowd, didn't we?

we took SOOO many pictures are Brad's! Only wish we would have remembered to grab the camera from our hotel room for the other days..guess we were having too much fun. Laughing

I haven't had a chance to add titles/descriptions yet but I've uploaded all the pics to a photobucket album. If anyone wants the full sized pic, i'd be happy to send any over, just shoot us a PM with which pictures and your personal email and I'll send them along.

thanks Minx, we have a Nikon D40 and just LOVE it! only problem i have is i want all kinds of fancy lenses to use with it! lol mainly i use a 55-200mm lens that does a pretty good job. I struggled with point and shoot cameras for a while before we finally broke down and got this a couple years ago, worth every penny.

We still need to take and post some pics of the new chicks we got from Doug, a trio a peach, a purple BS spalding male and a Bronze BS male. Very Happy

I can't wait to see pics of the birds you got, it sounds like you got a lot of cool birds.

I am entering a student photo contest and one of the grand prizes is a Nikon D7000 SLR and I really hope to win it! You can enter as many photos as you want but you have to pay $5 for each photo you enter, so I might enter just a few. I am waiting for my art teacher to select her favorite photos of the 9 we sent her then those will be the photos I enter.
