If anyone would be interested in working with the UPA BOD to be part of the 2012 convention please think about it and let the BOD know of your interest.. This is the first year that the BOD has opted to be the convention host. There will be some things that dont work out good and a lot that will be good.. At one time we had 5 years lined up and knew where the next one will be. I dont know why but the support has dropped in the last year or so.. We have been unable to find many members wanting to run for the BOD and help do some of the things that keep the UPA solvent,, both financialy and morally. Dont forget to purchase raffle tickets for the incubator and plan on coming to the convention in Kansas City, Mo.. Thank you George A Conner

George, We'd love to assist in any way needed for next year! We plan on attending this year and maybe can discuss further then how we could assist. Or feel free to email/PM us.
thanks for asking too! I think it would be great fun to help out.

You don't need to be a big breeder to help host a convention. That's an added bonus, but the best part of each event is to meet and talk with so many other peafowl owners/breeders. This club has some great folks and the conventions are always fun and informative.

Jay an Jen.. Thank you.. If you come to the convention this year visit with the BOD and advise them of your interested and What can be offered in your area.. Motels , airports, or air service, possible tours of interest, Kinda the way it has worked is that the BOD will select an area and will put together the program for speakers and tours with input from someone that would like to do a tour of their place. This can be multiple places with more than one group of breeders involved in the same area. It does take some time to get it all together so the BOD would like to know what to review at the convention, If you were to have a meal at your place the UPA will pay for that with your assistance. Some type of speaker or source of info shown is always good at the farm. The BOD has a budget for the convention to work from . The speakers should be on the subject at interest or related to avain. Also if any one else has an interest in doing this please respond to this post or to an UPA BOD member with similar info. I thank all of you who have read and have replyed to this posting. It is good to see replys... George
