Featherhead I thought I was the only one! I don't know much either...
It is nice to know you still have a piece of your roo, maybe one of the chicks will be just like him. |

The two yellow chicks are Ameraucana X Araucana (both easter egg chickens) The mom (araucana) has the blue egg trait, not sure on the dad's egg trait but should know in the spring, unless all baby boys. They will have their daddy's colors, white body with black tips around head and tail. The black chick is Ameraucana X black Australorp. curious to see if that chick is a hen, will a blue egg trait override the brown egg or give me some kind of rose or purple egg.
I'm hoping at least one will be a rooster, though. |

We had to put the poor rooster down the day the eggs went in the incubator. He was attacked by a racoon several months ago, seemed to recover, then went down fast. I think his brain became infected. He was obviously still giving the hen's a party right up till the end. |

Brand new incubator... it was fairly in expensive and worked like a charm. Three fertile eggs and three chicks. |
