I know nothing about the peafowl body except legs, feet, wings, tail...the general body parts.

But I had a thought. The area on the back in the center of the tail when fanning. It looks like tons of small eyes. Do they end up being the tail feathers for the next year? Or do they molt too? Do they have an official name?

That is the sadle.... and no it does not become the train. they molt it the same as the body feathers.
There is a diagram on the UPA web site with the names of peafowl body parts www.peafowl.org It took me forever to find it again.... I find the site very dificult to find stuff...... it was under the photo galery link. http://www.peafowl.org/peaphotos/anomencla.htm
