Hi! Our 4 year old peahen has sat on five eggs and two days ago two chicks appeared! she seems to have now abandoned the other three eggs - what should we do? I'm not experienced with candling and I've tried it looks like there is about 1/3 air sac and a dark mass, do you think they're likely to be fertile and still alive? Any advice greatly appreciated!

It is a good idea to have an incubator or a good setting chicken handy BEFORE this happens Idea
If those eggs have been cold for two days any peachick that was alive has died. Crying or Very sad
-------------
On a cold night in October 2008 I had a chicken setting on her own eggs who must have been feeling ill so she abandoned those eggs and later passed away of natural causes. I hastily collected those eggs and put them in warm (NOT hot) water while I turned on my incubator since I was left in the lurch Embarassed Half of those eggs did live to hatch. Two of those are still alive.
