What age is a good aged to move peachicks out side? mine were born on 7/2/13 and have al most all of their feathers in. I live in Alabama so I don't want to over heat them or have them freeze in winter.

Last time I incubated chicks, I moved them outside when they were about 10 weeks. Now, I let my hens hatch out the chicks and they are outside from day one. My coops are super clean with a base of white playground sand and cedar decks. I also prophylactically treat them with safeguard for goats, ivermectin and sulmet...just not at the same time. I feed them medicated chick starter until at least 16 weeks. So far so good. Your mileage may vary.

Right now I have them in a 4' long x 1' 6" wide x 2' high Rubbermaid bin with Chick wire top and they are almost to big for that. what could I use till they can go outside. I found a great shed for a coop and I plan on building a 10x20 run for it but I know they aren't big enough for that yet lol so im trying to find something for now till they are big enough for a run. Confused

I used something called a pet ranch which was perfect for 4 chicks as it had a open wire section and a red metal hutch on one end. I did a quick look and couldn't find it online. I thought I got it from Cutler Supply. I probably is technically a rabbit hutch. I kept it on my back porch until chicks were ready to move outside.
