It has been a while since I was on here. Busy taking care of the birds you know. Anyway I am in Northern California and I have a 2 year old white male dropping his tail feathers already. I have 2 other males that are not dropping yet. They usually start dropping in August. It has been a very warm and dry winter and spring here but I am concerned that there is something else maybe going on. Is there any illness that can cause early tail drop? Is anyone else experiencing this? Confused

Last year all 3 of my white males started dropping their tail feathers in early June, a full month before any of the other colors did. My older IB didn't drop until mid-September. I'm curious to see if the whites are early again this year. If he seems fine otherwise, I wouldn't get too worried at this point, mine were all fine. Smile

A few years ago Shasta dropped his train in May but Everest kept his train until
October. Both are white spalding and related.
