Hi, I am new to Peafowl, ( Have raised other types of Birds for years )
I have a Male that was sold to me as a India Blue, But he doesn't seem to have much blue, i was told that has he gets older the blue will show more.
The female was sold to me as a Jade Spalding, they are both about 7 Months old the female is a few weeks older then the male.
Thanks

Female

He was picked on at the breeders home, I am hoping it'll grow back. _________________ 2 Ameraucana Rooster, 2 Rhode Island Red Hens

Mine still seem so far behind everyone Else's in there color development, I also see a lot of green in my IB's Neck, and My IBBS still has so much white and other colors going on, my IBSP and my 2 Hens seem good to go color wise. _________________ 2 Ameraucana Rooster, 2 Rhode Island Red Hens

The male looks like he was hit by a fan blade as a young peachick.
I have seen similar wounds and they were from incubators that did not have the fan blades covered and the chicks suffer severe head wounds, blinded, or even killed. |

It makes me glad that there is NO fan in the Hovabator where my chicken incubated
peahen eggs go to be hatched .
But I can easily see the green spalding color in the necks of both of the juveniles. _________________ friendly poultry orthopedist |
